Eye of the Needle – Image of the Week

The challenge of an aging body hits me smack in the face every now and then. In my mind, I am under the illusion that I have not changed – I am still 25. And then… reality sets in. A while ago, this reality was brought into focus (or not) when I tried threading the eye of a needle with my progressively aging eyes. The challenge gave me the idea for this image. I bought the biggest needle I could find, lined my eye up in front of the lens and used a remote shutter release to take a photo of my eye focused on the needle. The image was shot in my studio using my Nikon D2X and a 70-180mm micro Nikon lens.
