Message in a Bottle

I shot this image while I was in Cuba a few years ago. We went on a boating/snorkling outing and anchored the boat off a secluded white sand beach. A Perfect backdrop for the message in a bottle prop I had prepared the night before. I can’t remember exactly what I wrote for the message in the bottle but it was probably something like “send more beer”.

After I was finished shooting and took a long walk down the beach (see it here), it was time to head back to the ship. Unfortunately, the tide had come in and the waist deep wade from ship to shore turned into a 20 meter swim on the way back.

I wouldn’t call it swimming. With my heavy SLR camera held high in the air, my one armed water tread propelled me in circles as I floundered closer to the boat. Both myself and the camera made it safely back to the vessel. Only I got wet.

    Bill,

I was Scuba Diving just south of Cuba in the Cayman Islands in 1995, I think the prefered beer down there is ‘Red Label’…

Great web site, keep up the good work…
