Nature up close – Image of the Week

I took this shot in my back yard with my Nikon D2X using a 70-180mm micro lens (f22 at 1/8 sec). Each summer these red dragonflies arrive in my yard. Interestingly, I was so focused on the dragonfly that I didn’t even see the spider that is camouflaged on the stick. It wasn’t until I was looking at the image on my computer screen later that I noticed it.
