The Mikisew Cree First Nations Elder Care Centre Spirit Eagle is coming along nicely.

The glass is actually 2 layers of tempered glass sandwiched together with clear plastic interlayer.

The glass is currently being installed by Inland Glass.

The frame has been fabricated, inspected, and coated with epoxy paint.

The frame being carried by forklift into the shop at Anvil Ironworks.

The frame was so large we had angle it to get it past the garage door into the shop.

Here’s a photo to give you a better idea of the height. This is at Anvil Ironworks, when we tested the fit using wooden templates I had made to simulate the actual footings that have already been constructed on site.

Here’s the frame set up at my shop at LN Group ready to receive the glass panels.

The sculpture is so large that had I not constructed a custom dolly for transport, it would have required a pilot car!

Here’s the custom dolly I made to transport the frame from Anvil Ironworks to my shop at LN Group.

The project is moving along nicely, and tomorrow should see the glass installation finished.  A big thank you to everyone who has given me a helping hand with this project, especially the folks at Inland Glass!

Let me know what you think about the process in the comments or on facebook.  I will also be posting soon about the mosaic process, so look for that in the coming week.
