With the increased availability of the internet I can seldom remember a morning that didn’t bring urgent warnings of the future. Global warming, trade wars, politics, it is hard to contextualise the times in which we live. Throughout the pandemic I have consciously distanced myself from conventional media in an attempt to escape from constant updates on situations beyond our control. The world can be a scary place, I myself survived the the 2012 Mayan apocalypse against all odds. I think about how many people have spent so much energy preaching that the end is nigh, but the world persists.  I hope we spend more time building courage in today’s youth than sewing doubt, I hope they know they have a future.
