The World is Your Oyster – Image of the Week

Natural pearls are rare and not easily obtained. The chances of me roaming the beach and finding a scene like this are not very good.

Cultured pearls are made by bringing all the elements together that only rarely occur in nature. Man has learned to control the process to create flawless pearls reliably. Just like the cultured pearl, I create the image I envision using the tools and talent available to me.

In life you have to make things happen. Life is too short to wait around for your pearl to show up.

This oyster shell was shot in my studio and later worked on in Photoshop where the original blue marble was replaced with a computer generated globe and the sand background and colour fade were added.
