World on a Platter

The world is on a platter
I heard a great quote recently, which I believe came from a Native Elder.

“We talk about what kind of world we are leaving our children, but what kind of children are we leaving our world?”

Hopefully ones that share a concern for the environment, and can do a better job of protecting the earth than we have done.

Educating our youth on sustainability is more important than ever. As my kids get older I realize the opportunity to impart my values and morals in them is slipping away or already gone. Parents of young children, don’t rely on the school system to educate them on the importance of the environment.

Remember the best way to  teach them is by setting an example by your actions and spending lots of time outdoors in the natural environment so they can build a connection with nature that will last a lifetime.
